Barbers don’t exist

Back to senior high school, when I’m not really sure if God exists. That day was a my day. Doing anything based on my experiences and my knowledge (not God’s). Sciece is everything, I’m truly crazy about science. So, everything that science can’t prove, means it doesn’t exist. Unfortunately, science never proved that God is exist, so I didn’t believe in God. The universe created naturally, no one control the universe. Simple. Even I didn’t believe in God, I can continue my life, I still alive, I still breath… Why should I bother to believe in God? That was my thought.

But, now I DO believe in God. I DO believe in Holy Spirit who guiding my life, I DO believe in Jesus who died in the cross for my sins. The topic of this blog, is not how can I believe in God. The process I believe in God is kinda long story, but the important that now I belong to God and I surrender to God -

If someone ask me "Does God really exist?", I’ll answer in no doubt "Yes! God DOES exist!". Novie, one of my best friend, has very interesting story how to answer such question. If only I read this story yearssss ago, maybe it’ll tremendously affecting my mind. Read the story carefully if you’re not believe in God.

Barber Shop

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects.
When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: "I don’t believe that God exists."

"Why do you say that?" asked the customer.
"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn’t exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people?
Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can’t imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things."
The customer thought for a moment, but didn’t respond because he didn’t want to start an argument.

The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop. Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt.

The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber: "You know what? Barbers do not exist."

"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber. "I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"

"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don’t exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards,
like that man outside."

"Ah, but barbers DO exist! " answered the barber. "What happens, is, people do not come to me."

"Exactly!"- affirmed the customer. "That’s the point! God, too, DOES exist! What happens, is, people don’t go to Him and do not look for Him. That’s why there’s so much pain and suffering in the world."

There’s always the first time

There’s always first time. I mean anything…!

Pertama kali naksir seseorang, pertama kali pdkt, pertama kali kencan, pertama kali naik pesawat, pertama kali nyetir mobil, pertama kali ke luar negeri, pertama kali berbisnis, pertama kali bekerja, bahkan pertama kali… ehm… merried!

Pertama kali selalu nampak sulit. Mungkin karena pertama kali tidak pernah terulang lagi. Ada ungkapan "There’s no second chance for first impression". Think about it for a while, you’ll realize that the phrase absolutely true!

Do you agree?

If you agree with that, you’ll find strangely enough fact. Many people affraid to starting something for the first time. They afraid if they failed, they afraid if they can’t do well, they afraid if the work will be messed up, they afraid if… etc, etc, etc.

Kalo kamu takut melakukan sesuatu, kapan kamu mulai (ato kapan kamu bertambah dewasa)?

Percaya kalo Tuhan menyertai, then nothing to be afraid of. Tuhan berkata supaya kamu menyerahkan semua ketakutanmu kepadaNya. So, never afraid to do your "first time".

(buat temanku yang punya phobia "takut melakukan sesuatu untuk pertama kali")
